Rewards

Rewards is how the platform pays you back for building apps people actually use. You earn reward credits when others use the AI features in your published apps and when new users discover the platform through them.

When you publish an app and people use it, that usage consumes credits. A share of that activity flows back to you as reward credits, accumulating automatically in a separate reward balance. The more useful and widely used your apps are, the more you earn.

Rewards vs earnings

Two words mean two different things, and the distinction matters throughout these docs:

  • Reward credits are credits you earn on the platform. They are potential value: you can spend them on AI usage or convert them to cash.
  • Earnings are the dollars you have withdrawn to your bank account. Earnings are realized, real-world money.

Reward credits become earnings at the moment you withdraw them. Until then, everything you accumulate is tracked as reward credits in your reward balance.

How you earn

There are two ways to earn reward credits, and they stack:

  • Usage rewards accrue when signed-in users use AI features in your public or unlisted apps. They pay the base AI cost from their own credits, and a creator premium is added on top and passed to you. See Usage Rewards.
  • Referral rewards accrue when a new user discovers the platform through one of your apps, signs up, and verifies their email. See Referral Rewards.

Both require real, signed-in users opening your published apps, so reaching more people directly increases what you earn. See Marketing Your App for how to get there.

Using your rewards

Reward credits collect in a reward balance that is tracked separately from your regular AI credit balance, which makes them easy to review and audit. Users can put that balance to work in two ways:

  • Transfer reward credits into your AI credit balance to spend on platform usage and creating.
  • Withdraw eligible reward credits to a connected bank account through Stripe Connect, turning them into earnings.
