Sharing and Installing Apps

Published apps can be opened from a link and installed as progressive web apps on mobile and desktop devices.

After publishing, the platform gives you a shareable link for the app. What happens when someone opens that link depends on the app's visibility:

  • Public apps can be shared freely and may also appear on public platform surfaces.
  • Unlisted apps can be opened by anyone with the direct link, but they are not listed publicly.
  • Private apps are only available to you.

If an app is paid, users must purchase access before they can use it. Learn more in Buying Apps.

Install as an App

Every published app can be installed as a progressive web app. Users can add it to a phone, tablet, or desktop for quick access and an app-like experience without going through an app store.

Installed apps still follow the same access and visibility rules as the web version. They also continue to receive updates when you publish a new version.

Access Rules

Each user signs in with their own account and gets their own private app data. Sharing a link never shares your database, test data, or personal information.

If you update or republish an app, existing users and buyers receive the latest version automatically after the publish completes.
